Lingua Academy: You came for language learning but walked out gaining connections and confidence to speak in public

Our story

In a world that changed so much in the past 40 years, most language schools are still using the same techniques and curricula they used in the 80’s. Where ever you go, you will find more or less the same kinds of classrooms, teaching methods and learning environments. Objectively speaking we look back on our childhood classrooms and we would see nothing but rigidness, impersonal teachers and a disconnection of what students really need.

At Lingua Academy, we believe that learning a language is not only about learning grammar and vocabulary anymore. It is about confidence, opportunity, connection, and finding your place in the world.

This idea was born through years of personal experience with languages, cultures, and education systems. That experience revealed an important truth: people do not learn languages effectively when they feel intimidated, judged, or treated like numbers.

In Brussels, it became clear that many internationals, expats, students, and professionals needed languages not only for academic purposes, but to integrate, build careers, create relationships, and feel confident in daily life. Yet many traditional courses still focused on memorisation rather than real human communication.

These experiences shaped our purpose and drives our mission.
